Introduction
Büyükada has been an important cultural space where many writers and authors have lived and created their works throughout history. A library building has been designed to carry this heritage to the present day and preserve the unique identity of the island. The building is configured as a multifunctional center supporting cultural production with workshops, classrooms, a seminar hall, and indoor and outdoor exhibition areas. With educational spaces for children, study areas for students, and a café that strengthens public use, the building aims to be a living cultural hub.

Concept
Mass Setback and Public Space Formation
After placing the masses according to the view and topography, they were set back at designated points to create an open, plaza-like public area at the Bahçelerönü Street entrance.

Mass Subtraction and Light-Focused Open Area
In the mass housing educational and workshop units for children, a section was removed from the rear to create an open activity area and increase natural light intake.
Movement and Spatial Connection in the Mass
To maximize the benefit from the view in the entrance mass, one end was raised upward, creating a bridge connecting to the other mass and a terrace facing the sea. At the rear, the relevant end of the mass was lowered to allow the stepped seating areas to perceive the view.

Social and Cultural Continuity
Public use was supported with open exhibition and socializing areas in the landscape. The building was designed not just as a library, but as a public center that brings the island's residents together and revives the spirit of the island.
